BARCELONA, September 22 (EFE).- The leaders of JXCAT and the ERC have toned down the tone of their crossed statements and given themselves more room to reach an agreement that would allow them to maintain their official alliance without political pressure. The Debate General will be held in Parliament between 27 and 30 September.

Over the past two weeks, leaders of both parties have been holding discreet meetings in Palau de Pedralbes to reconcile positions in the face of warnings from JxCat, which set out three conditions for signing peace with the ERC.

Three conditions – the reactivation of a “common staff” of processes that look for a new pro-independence roadmap, unity of action in Madrid and the negotiation of amnesty and self-determination at the dialogue table with the state – are included in the official agreement. That ERC and JxCat were sealed last year, but not seen.

Since the beginning of September, JxCat has been warning its partners that if these three points are not met, their continuation in government will be meaningless.

Jaunt’s continuation in the government will, in any case, be decided by the militants, according to the terms set by the party’s National Council, which could meet around October 20, according to training sources.

The urge to clarify the future of JxCat – which includes powerful sectors within the party that favor leaving the government – led its leaders to summon the ERC for a deal ahead of the general policy debate, but the pressure was not well received by the Republicans and last Saturday, Oriol Junqueras Junt and the PSC historically came to accuse them of “covering up” corruption cases.

Faced with findings that tensions between the government’s two partners were rising, and after the ERC’s closed-door warning that it would “not bow to blackmail or ultimatums”, JxCat toned down its statements. last days

JxCat’s president, Laura Boras, denied last Tuesday that next week’s general policy debate represented an “ultimatum” for the ERC to accept Jaunt’s terms.

JxCat sources consulted by Efe confirm that the “ultimatum” to find out whether the alliance can be saved is not a general policy debate, but a suggestion that Zants hold on to this collapse.

Far from fueling sentiments that JxCat could approach opposition, the government’s vice president, Jordi Puignero, insisted this Thursday that both he and his team have a “public vocation”, so they are working to make the deal possible.

After Generalitat president Pere Aragon├ęs announced yesterday that he would present “a comprehensive proposal for self-regulation” in the general policy debate, Puignero indicated that JxCat might join him to see if he is “waiting” to hear that proposal.

The deputy general secretary and spokeswoman of the ERC, Marta Vilalta, celebrated this Thursday from Parliament that JxCat “doesn’t talk about ultimatums anymore”.

Villalta emphasized that the absence of an ultimatum allowed the general policy debate to be devoted to “responding to the most basic needs of citizens” and “prioritizing”, for example, measures to combat inflation.

“The best we can do from the government is: to be useful, to help the people”, commented Villatta, who demanded “respect, responsibility and loyalty” from his partners, “to accompany the government instead of attacking or destabilizing it”. ┬╗

On the other hand, this year is a united one, after the image of division displayed by the freedom movement in the dyad of September 11 due to the absence of the ERC in the ANC protests on the fifth anniversary of the unilateral referendum on 11-O. Perform at Barcelona’s Arc de Triomf to be joined by Esquerra.

Former President of the Parliament Carme Forcadell and former Catalan President Carles Puigdemont will speak at the ceremony.
