Barcelona, September 22 (EFE).- Catalonia’s Superior Court of Justice (TSJC) has agreed to maintain 25% of classes in Spanish in two schools where the measure is already being implemented as a precaution by court order, despite the fact that the Generalitat after approval of the new language law requested to withdraw.

The TSJC has pronounced this way for the first time on schools subject to precautionary measures, after last June it recognized that a sentence imposing 25% of classes in Spanish could not be enforced after a new law approved by parliament, which is now in the hands of the Constitutional Court.

While waiting for the TC to rule on the constitutionality of the new law, the Generalitat requested the withdrawal of these measures in schools where 25% Spanish was implemented by judicial decision, but the controversial-administrative chamber of the TSJC considered that the new law “does not necessarily affect the precautionary decision taken “.
