Campdevànol (Girona), (EFE).- The man arrested in Campdevànol (Girona) for his involvement in the death of his partner has a history of sexist violence in a previous relationship.
According to sources close to the case, the detainee is 36 years old and was arrested shortly before 3:00 pm this past Wednesday when a woman’s body was found in a house in this mountain town of just over 3,000 residents.
The victim is a 21-year-old girl and the man was detained at Ripoll police station, where he spent the night awaiting trial.
The Criminal Investigation Area of the Mossos d’Esquadra de Girona is in charge of the investigation to clarify the causes of the young woman’s death, while the investigating judge has ordered the proceedings to be confidential.
The apartment where the body appeared, later transferred to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Girona to confirm whether it was a violent death, is located in the street Puntaro de Campdewanal, where the victim lived with the prisoner and his mother.
The CCOO union condemned the alleged sexist killings and rejected “the violence that is still used against women simply for being women” in a statement calling for the elimination of such cases.
