Lisbon, September 21 (EFE).- Awarded for Portuguese football, Cristiano Ronaldo assured that his path “is not over”, that he feels motivated and willing to play the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 European Championship.
The Portuguese crack was awarded as the team’s top scorer last night during the Quinas de Oro gala organized by the Portuguese Football Federation on the outskirts of Lisbon.
The Manchester United player said, “It is an honor to be awarded in this category as the national team’s top scorer.
He also took the opportunity to send a clear message about his future: “My path is not over yet. I feel motivated and my ambitions are high.
“I’m in the national team with a lot of young players and a great future and I want to continue with the national team at the World Cup and the 2024 European Championship,” Ronaldo began, according to local media.
The player – who has scored 117 goals in 189 games at the age of 37 – is in Lisbon with the national team for Nations League matches against the Czech Republic and Spain in the coming days.
Coach Jose Mourinho – who is celebrating his 22nd year as a coach – and Abel Ferreira were also honored at the event.
