Madrid, September 20 (EFE).- The trade deficit reached 38,524 million euros in the first seven months of the year, a five-fold increase over the 6,995 million euros in the same period in 2021, due in large part to growth. Cost of energy products purchased abroad.
According to the foreign trade report published this Tuesday by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Spanish exports increased by 24.2% in the period to 222,961 million; While imports rose 40.2% to 261,485 million.
The trade balance, discounting energy, showed a deficit of 7,478.5 million, compared to a surplus of 5,202.4 million from January to July 2021; While the energy deficit has more than doubled from 12,197 to 31,045.4 million.
