Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani made his Spanish league debut this Saturday, starting as a starter for Valencia-Celta at the Mestalla Stadium, in a match in which he played seventy minutes and in which he rarely featured in the Valencian game.

Cavani, who arrived at Valencia this summer after lengthy negotiations and penned a two-season deal, was presented in early September in front of more than 7,500 Valencianistas who were excited about his signing despite knowing he would not play immediately due to a lack of players. He was not 100% in competitive rhythm and physically.
